Q. What is the process to start my remodel?
A. A cabinet design specialist will meet with you in your home to measure areas that you would like to remodel. In the event that you already have measurements, simply bring in your plans to our design center and meet with a designer. Once measuring is complete, the designer will professionally design your project on our state of the art design software. This will enable you to understand what the area or areas will look like through 3-D perspective drawings.

Q. Is there a fee for the design services?
A. There is no fee to meet with a member of the design team. Simply call Kitchen Master and a design specialist will contact you to set up a time that is best for you to meet.

Q. What is the difference between "custom" and "pre-manufactured" cabinets?
A. There are thousands of cabinet manufacturers in the marketplace today, however Kitchen Master only chooses to deliver quality "semi" custom cabinetry to our clients. "Custom" cabinets simply mean that a cabinet shop is going to order the materials necessary to complete your job. At this point we consider these "cabinet assemblers". Whereas a pre-manufactured cabinet is assembled in a factory and every part is then delivered to your home. The advantage of pre-manufactured cabinets is the quality of the product in a controlled environment, whereas the finish on all cabinets, mouldings and doors is a catalyzed finish. This finish will last 10 times longer than a water based finish. This process of finishing can only be controlled in a factory environment. Without this process a cabinet shop can only offer you a water based finish due to emission control. Factories can control the emissions produced from oil based and catalyzed finishing procedures. So the real difference is that pre-manufactured cabinetry will last longer and have a better warranty.

Q. Who installs my cabinets or can I install them myself?
A. Our sister company Kitchen Master Installations Inc. will professionally install your new cabinetry. Our cabinet installers have over 16 years of installation background. For a professional install, Kitchen Master Installations is available. You can certainly install your own cabinetry if you choose to do so. Your designer will assist you in all areas needed and answer any questions pertaining to the installation.

Q. How long are the cabinet lead times?
A. This all depends on a few key elements. Time of year, cabinet manufacturer, doorstyle and stain, can all be factors. On average the lead time is 4 to 5 weeks from the order date of the cabinets.
|
Q. How long will my project take?
A. This all depends on the size of the remodel that you have in mind. If you are just replacing the existing cabinets and countertops you can plan on a functional working kitchen 4-6 weeks after the remodel has started. If you are having walls removed, new electrical or plumbing then it will depend on the amount of work that needs to be done. Typically once cabinets have arrived, the cabinet installation is only a few days. At this point you will be ready for countertop fabrication to begin. Depending on your countertop type you may have countertops anywhere from 3- 10 days. Once countertops have been installed then the plumbing can be finished. Again, depending on the size of the remodel will determine the amount of time taken to complete it.

Q. Where do I go for countertops?
A. Kitchen Master of California Inc. can help you in this area. We work with different fabricators of granite, plastic laminate and solid surface tops. Whatever you desire for your countertops, we can help you decide where to go and what to get. The fabricators that you will work with are the best around not only in the work that they do but also the pricing you will receive. Just let your design team member know what you would like.
